Welcome to the website of the Association of International Road Carriers of Armenia. This website is created for informing about the activities of the Association and for serving as a reliable online resource.

The Republic of Armenia joined the TIR Convention1 in 1993. In order to implement the provisions of the Convention, “Association of International Road Carriers of Armenia” non-governmental organization was formed in 1999 (legal entity state registration certificate 03A064002, registration number: 211.171.02514, registration date: 26.03.2004, legal entity code 39116500, Taxpayer's tax code 00052111).

International Road Transport Union2, as well as in accordance with the Decree N670 dated 26 October 1999, “Association of International Road Carriers of Armenia” non-governmental organization (AIRCA) was recognized as guaranteeing organization for issuing TIR carnets.

AIRCA provides TIR carnets since 2001.

Presently, AIRCA has 38 member organizations, which have a total of over 300 vehicles matching with international standards. Transport vehicles which are involved in TIR system freight transportation, as well as their drivers, undergo mandatory AIRCA certification in AIRCA training centre. Carriers receive around 1000 TIR carnets annually (2010, 2011).

1. TIR Convention - The Convention on International Transport of Goods Under Cover of TIR Carnets (TIR Convention) was made at Geneva on 14 November 1975 to simplify and harmonise the administrative formalities of international road transport.

 

2. International Road Transport Union (IRU) – Non-governmental organization residing in Geneva (Switzerland), which established with the purpose of implementation of the provisions of TIR Convention. IRU has 170 member-organizations, which are from 72 different countries.
AIRCA – is IRU associated member since 1999.
